Lori Fitterling, MLS

University Library Director

Welcome to the D’Angelo and Dawson Libraries! As the University Library Director it is my desire to provide quality library services to our KCU community. I have spent many years in the academic, medical librarianship field and recognize the importance of evidence based medical education training. Providing access to evidence based resources, educating students on information literacy and making sure the library supports all of your medical resource needs, is foremost for me. I look forward to this new year and extend an invitation to all of you, to utilize your library resources and services. We are here to support you in your medical journey. Welcome to KCU!

Jessica Berry, MLS

undefinedHello, my name is Jessica Berry!

I like yoga, reading, coffee, and traveling.

I manage the library's electronic resources, including e-books, e-journals, and databases. If you have any questions about accessing these resources, please contact me at jberry@kansascity.edu.

I'm always happy to help!

Abbey Griffith, MLS

Hi! I'm Abbey Griffith, Medical Librarian/Library Manager for D'Angelo Library in KC. I'm also the course director and instructor for MED121 and MED122 that all 1st year COM students take here at KCU.

Along with the Medical Informatics courses, I also work in reference and research. My work entails a lot of reference and research requests, so if you're working on a literature review or your own research interests, I'm more than happy to assist you in identifying search terms and building your search strategies, as well as helping you learn how to navigate our databases available at KCU.

McKenzie Warren, MLS

undefinedHello and welcome to KCU!

My name is McKenzie Warren, medical librarian/researcher, for the Dawson Library in the Dawson Library on the Joplin campus. I’m obsessed with coffee, my cat, and all things Fall and Halloween. I can assist you with a variety of needs such as interlibrary loan requests, research requests, and navigating our online catalog and databases. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at mwarren@kansascity.edu. We are so glad to have you here!

Bonnie Turner, MLIS

I'm Bonnie Turner, research and education Medical Librarian (and library manager) at Dawson Library on the Joplin campus!

I'm a long-time, four-states native who shares a home with a 20-year-old feline bestie, Spooky. I love white sand beaches, hot coffee, and my two precious grandsons. When I'm not working, I'm an explorer of new places, thrift store and flea market scavenger, and bibliophile (of course).

I'm your go-to for all things "library" and "question answerer." Come see me when you're in sensory overload--the library is a "Quiet Zone" and we take it seriously. Need a cheerleader; idea collaborator; or just an ear to listen? -- Always happy to help!

Got an idea for how our library can serve you better? Please, let me know!

Robyn Oro

I’m Robyn Oro, Access Services/ Special Collections Coordinator.

This will be my twenty-eighth year of welcoming students to campus. When you visit the Kansas City library you’ll see me behind the Access Services desk ready to check out your textbooks as well as headphones, book stands and other items to help you study. As Special Collections Coordinator I maintain the university’s archives. KCU is one of the five original osteopathic schools still in operation. We have 104 years of history here and some of it is on display for you to see. We also have a Special Collections reading room which is a popular study spot.

I can’t wait to meet you!
