Graphic Medicine is a genre of books that combines personal stories and medical issues with comic illustrations. This combination of difficult topics and a comic medium creates a more approachable format for difficult issues. Authors/illustrators often share deeply personal stories and experiences with both text and images.
Graphic novels are great for faster reading when you're pressed for time or you just want a quick break. But don't let the comic format fool you -- these are still difficult topics and subjects and can be heavy and emotional.
