This is a great tool to upload your work and run the Checker in order to see what parts of your work may match other already created content. The tool will also provided writing assistance and suggestions for word and punctuation usage.

Another tool that allows users to upload a work and have a process runs that checks for duplicate content from the web. It supports 20 different languages and runs through 8 million publications in addition to billions of web pages. The software will also show the most related works and where those can be found, in order to help with citing sources.

Types of plagiarism

Blending

  • Mixing words or ideas from an unacknowledged source in with your own words or ideas.
  • Mixing together words and ideas from several sources into a single work, without citing sources.
  • Mixing together properly cited uses of a source with non-cited uses.

Direct Plagiarism

  • A phrase or passage that is copied word for word, but not quoted.

Paraphrasing

  • Rephrasing another person’s work and inserting into your own work without acknowledging the original source.

Insufficient Acknowledgement

  • Half crediting source; whereby you acknowledge the author’s work the first time, but continue to use the author’s words without giving additional attribution.
