To request an item through interlibrary loan, please:

  • Use the online catalog to verify that our library does not already own the title.
  • Contact the library with your request either by using our request form, sending us an e-mail, calling us, or asking us in person at the D'Angelo Library or Dawson Library.
  • Allow articles or book chapters approximately 2-10 days to arrive and allow book loans approximately 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Faculty Services

Acquisition Recommendations

Please e-mail Lori Fitterling, Library Director, to request the purchase of books, periodicals, or other educational materials.

Note:

  • All application software is purchased through the IT Department, and requests should be directed to them.
  • All recommendations will be evaluated based on the existing KCU Library collection, availability, and budget.

Course Reserve Request

Faculty members may request that the library put books and other library materials on reserve for student use.

Please submit reserve requests to the library by email: Library@kansascity.edu (Kansas City campus) or DawsonLibrary@kansascity.edu (Joplin campus).

Reserve materials will be made available within 24 hours if the request is submitted Monday - Thursday. Friday submissions will be made available the following Monday.

A faculty member may request a desk copy of a textbook. The textbook requested must be required for a course that the faculty member is teaching.

Desk copy requests must include the following information:

  • Name and number of the course in which the textbook will be used
  • Number of students in the course
  • Date the course will begin

Please send your requests to Lori Fitterling, and contact her if you have questions regarding this process.
