Fighting against racism and striving for dismantling of systemic racism in medicine is key to providing equitable and complete care to your future patients, but the world and protests bring to light more than just the issues within the medical community. Listening and learning are key to combating racial inequality and recognizing voices of others with different experiences is vital to growth in this area.
Below are some reading lists for both adults and children on the subject of anti-racism. KCU does not have these titles within our collection so please check out your local public library if you are interested in reading them.
If you have not already done so, please check out the KCU Student Book Club. The first book on the list is "White Fragility" by Robin Diangleo. You can find the link to join the group on the KCU Intranet.
Streaming media companies like Netflix and Prime Video have created anti-racism watchlilsts. If you have time, there are some wonderful titles available right now for free.
This is far from a complete list of resources. If there are any that you feel should be included, please email agriffith@kansascity.edu
